Depew Fire Department Junior Firefighter Program was honored to be the recipient of a generous donation from the Red Knights NY Chapter 47
Yesterday evening, the Depew Fire Department Junior Firefighter Program was honored to be the recipient of a generous donation from the Red Knights NY Chapter 47. This donation was awarded to our Junior Firefighters as a result of the 7th annual “Hems Angels Ride” fundraiser hosted by the Red Knights NY Chapter 47.
This annual fundraiser is held in honor of the late Alex Hemline, a Junior Firefighter with the Harris Hill Volunteer Fire Company, who tragically passed away in 2013 after a motor vehicle accident. Alex Hemline was just 17 years old at the time of his passing and was actively involved in serving his community as a Junior Firefighter. This annual fundraiser uses money raised to support local explorer and junior firefighting programs.
We are humbled by this generous donation, which will go directly to furthering the training and education of Depew’s Junior Firefighters to help prepare these young men and women for full-fledged firefighting duties once they turn 18 years of age.
Thank you again to the Red Knights NY Chapter 47 for your generosity in helping prepare Depew’s future firefighters to serve our great community!
