The Depew Fire Department serves the Village of Depew, New York, a community of 15,102 residents (as of 2019). The Village of Depew is approximately five miles from the City of Buffalo, New York, and is roughly five square miles in size. Depew is one of the largest villages in the State of New York.
The Department currently has approximately 140 firefighters amongst our ranks. The current Fire Chief is Todd Rzeszutek, who also serves as the Fire Marshal. There are also three (3) Assistant Fire Chiefs. The fire department consists of four (4) hose companies, one (1) ladder truck company and one hose/heavy rescue company. We proudly boast the largest volunteer fire department in the County of Erie and one of the largest in the State of New York.
We respond to a wide array of calls every year, including structure fires, motor vehicle accidents, rescue calls, traffic control, carbon monoxide alarms and many other types of emergencies.
