2nd Asst. Dave Adamberger
Asst. Chief Adamberger is a member of West End Hose Co. #6. Wanting a little excitement and a chance
to meet new people he joined in 1980 and has 27 years of service. He is proud to be a part of something special and
enjoys sharing his accomplishments with his wife and three children.
Asst. Chief Adamberger has completed many NYS training courses including Auto Extrication, Firefighter Safety
and Survival, And Incident Command. He rose through the ranks of his company holding the offices of 2nd Lt., 1st Lt.,
and Captain before being elected chief. He also held the office of Vice President.
It is very important to him that when the members of this department finish their jobs, whether it be training,
fires, auto accidents, etc., that they all go home to their families.

3rd Asst. Chief Joe Whipkey
Asst. Chief Whipkey joined the department in 1987, enlisting into the ranks of Depew Hose Co. #1.
His father was a long time member of the Hook and Ladder company and Joe, growing up around the department, wished to
follow in his footsteps. He has 15 years of service in the department including time as a member of the Hook and Ladder
Co.
Asst. Chief Whipkey, like all members of the department, must balance his time to the department and with
his wife and 3 boys. And because of that commitment to his family he hopes to make the best FAST team in the area in
this department as well as provide newer gear for all members so eveyone can be safe.
Two of his proudest moments in the department were in 1987 and 1991. In 1987 he was named firefighter
of the year by Depew Hose Co. #1. On November 7th 1991, he assisted in a rescue during a fire on River St. in Depew
and received an award from the Hook and Ladder Co, to which he belonged at that time.
5th Asst. Chief Scott Wegst

4th Asst. Chief Brian Musielak

Asst. Chief Musielak is a member of Hook and Ladder Co. #1. Joining in 1993 he has served the department
for 17 years, including 1 year in the Aetna Hose Co. As a kid he always wanted to be a firefighter and this allowed
him to make his dream come true.
Brian is married, and like many in the department has to balance his time at home with his time in service
to the department. Not an easy task for someone who has held the offices of secretary, lieutenant, captain, warden,
alternate warden and was fire prevention chairman for many years. Not to mention the huge amount of training he has
that includes, Ladder Ops, Hazmat, ICS courses and many many others.
Brian remembers the October Storm of 2006 as a time when this department showed its real self. In
a 48 hour period firefighters responded to 3 structure fires and 100 calls, all with snow, trees, and power lines in the roads
and yards. A real testament to the teamwork and endurance of the members. Keeping that 48 hours in mind, Brian
hopes that he can keep this department working as a team and help make it the best department around for years to come.
Dept. Secretary Scott Bosworth
Dept. Treasurer Jesse Nikonowicz
Dept. Financial Secretary Bob Guggemos
