Welcome to the Depew Fire Department Cadence Corps web page!
Hello everyone. We hope all of you had a safe and wonderful holiday season. The Depew Fire Department Cadence Corp would like to extend a huge thank you to Town of Cheektowaga for once again inviting us to play at their annual Winter fest celebration at the Town Park Recreation Center recently. We enjoyed playing a medley of traditional Christmas songs, which of course is a departure from our array of traditional marching songs we normally play. We were pleased to participate along with the many other activities going on throughout the day. Next up is the annual Lancaster St. Patrick’s Day parade in March which can be more winter like than the December Winter fest. Such is life in Western New York. This annual parade unofficially “kicks off” our parade season. Aside from the usual cold and blustery conditions, we enjoy this parade and the following festivities. Of course the ‘official” marching season starts with the annual Depew Memorial Day Parade and continues through September with our own Depew Fire Department inspection and parade. As details of other upcoming parades is made available, we will try to post those dates. Until then everyone, stay safe and enjoy the Western New York weather. -Jan Kostran
Thank you for visiting our Depew Fire Department Cadence Corp website. As always we appreciate your support and thank you for attending the local parades and community events along with us. Well, well, well. Another marching season is well under way and will soon be concluding with our own Depew Fire Department Annual Inspection on September 9th. Of course we still hope to see each and every one of you at the Erie County Fair on August 11th and the Clarence Center Labor Day parade on September 4th. We also expect to be performing at Depew’s “National Night Out” event on Tuesday August 1st along with our other “firematic” duties that evening. Please come out to support the local community as well as those in the Law Enforcement, Fire and Safety professions in and around Erie County. Of course July 4th was as hot and humid as it always is, but the annual parade and festivities Lancaster puts on went as well as ever. What a wonderful day. Thankfully the rain held out and the weather stayed dry. I hope those of you who attended this annual event enjoyed yourselves. We as a Cadence Corp and as a Fire Department look forward to this event each and every year. Our own village parade in remembrance of Memorial Day also went well. Again the weather was great and although it is a somber day for many, we appreciate the opportunity to participate in this annual event. It’s important for communities to come together in support of our fallen veterans of past and present. Thank you again friends. We hope to see all of you in the future as we do our best to entertain you. Until our next update, please have a safe and enjoyable summer season here in Western New York, Erie County and the Village of Depew. Thanks for watching
